Yes, this is a re-list from a couple of months ago. The winning bidder could only pay with his American Express. I do not accept American Express (especially Int'l) unless it is a back-up funding source to your Pay-Pal account. This time, I would prefer a Bank Wire or secured funds payment. Pay-Pal is my least desirable option but ok too if your feeback rating is > 98% and you have over 30 previous transactions with eBay. The most accurate re-creation of a true 1958 Burst I have ever seen... A 1997 Murphy prototype-era R8. Aging and Finish 100% Murphy. Unlike any others you will find available for sale. This particular guitar was Finished, Relic'd and Aged by Tom. One of less than 50 in the world. In a phone conversation with Tom Murphy earlier this year, Tom stated that less than 50 of the Murphy 'finished, relic'd and aged' R8's and R9's were ever built! Basically, a few were offered to Tom prior to the Gibson 100 in ~1998 for re-finishing by die-hard players / collectors to the true late 50's color. A feat Gibson could not (and still can't) accomplish on their own. When you purchase a Gibson Les Paul Murphy 1999-Present, you are getting a Les Paul that Tom aged but did not paint. Occasionally you can find one that Tom finished but in turn, did not relic or age. Big difference here, Tom did it all and nailed the color too!!! Of the few Murphy proto-type era guitars that exist, the 1997-1998's are superior in every respect as Tom himself could experiment a bit and spend quality time on each instrument. Those days are long gone. Top, back and neck colors on any production RI from Gibson lack the 'real-look.' Tom does not finish (paint) tops for Gibson. On this one, he did it all! Amazing neck as Tom also indicates on his letterhead (see pix.) Fat 50's neck profile and both sides are straight. One of my personal collection favorites. No low-ball offers as it will go for the near-asking price or I will keep it. Prefer secured funds on this one (Cashiers check, Bank transfer.) Guitar will ship fully insured. Shipping is free only to the US/48. Others must make their own arrangements and agree to UPS or Fedex fees as they apply. Thank you.
