Description
I'm selling my 59 Gibson ES-335 "Dot Neck". This guitar is in phenomenal condition. Definitely over 9 out of 10 cosmetically, it's a true beauty with some nice figuring on its Maple top. It was refretted with Dunlop 6100 medium jumbo frets and has been played very little since then. When I got this guitar 16 or so years ago (from Dave Crocker at "Fly By Night" now one of the "Three Amigos" I think), the original tuners crumbled in my hands when I tried to tune it. I replaced them with Kluson direct replacements so no extra holes have ever been drilled. I'm pretty sure I have the originals around somewhere and if I do, I'll include them in the sale. That's it, other than those 2 little things, it's 100% stock. It has a typical large 59 neck, a good handful but not a baseball bat like a 58. The PAF's read a stunning 8.68 in the neck and 8.31 in the bridge. When I look in the screw holes of the adjustable polepieces, I see white plastic on both pickups. So, they are either double whites (more likely) or zebras. No supurlatives or attempts to describe the tone and feel of this instrument. It's just the best, end of story. The 59 dotneck is an iconic guitar and this is an iconic dotneck. Two years ago, this would have flown off the shelf at $75,000. Times have changed, the economy is hosed and this guitar is priced at $50.000. If you have any questions, call Chris, Mon-Thurs, 11am-6pm Mon-Thurs at 415 431 2150. I would much prefer you come to San Francisco and pick it up. I will sell to overseas buyers but will not ship it overseas. You will have to arrange your own pick up and shipping. No Paypal on this one. I'll take cash, Bank Checks or Bank Wire Transfer. This guitar is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this listing early. I may also realize that I'm f-ing nuts to sell this guitar and end the listing early. Shipping in the lower 48 United States will be your choice of FedEx Next Day Air or Second Day Air and I'll charge you whatever it costs me. Please disregard whatever it says about shipping cost in the box below, we'll figure it out when we get there. Thanks
