Description
1957 Mark VI Paris Selmer Tenor Saxophone with Factory High F# This RARE, all original, SN 69754 horn is a highly sought, very early Mark VI Paris Selmer needs very little introduction and has been called the most famous horn on the planet. This is the renowned “Paris Selmer” recognized around the world for excellent production quality which resulted in an incredible sound and playing experience. From the estate of its only owner, this Paris Selmer was played mostly in the first 15 years starting as a high school instrument and then various week-end bands. It was part of the owner’s “Paris Selmer” stable consisting of baritone, tenor, and alto saxophones. The pictures clearly show both the “5 digit” serial number part of the horn as well as the bell information regarding the Paris Selmer France information. Mark VI ‘s were first built starting in 1954 revolutionizing saxophone sound and ergonomics and has been the standard for most saxophones since that time. Pictures show some lacquer loss due to pitting in the last 30-35 years of “closet” storage and player handling habits. The case zipper back corners need repair to allow the zipper to operate properly. This Paris Selmer Tenor Mark VI Saxophone includes: 1. Original Factory High F# key (not standard in early years) 2. Original Case with built-in Flute Holder in the Lid 3. Original Metal “Jazz” Pairs Selmer C** mouthpiece and cover 4. Original Paris Selmer C* Mouthpiece and cover 5. Metal Resonators 6. Built between Oct 9, 1957 and Dec 3, 1957. 7. Fully engraved Bell This Paris Selmer has been checked by two different and extremely competent horn specialists and found to play exceptional - as expected for this vintage classic horn. The horn is sold as is. Shipping and insurance are included within the Continental US and negotiable elsewhere. Customers outside of the United States are responsible for any Custom Process Expenses.
