Description This is an original 1953 Fender Precision Bass guitar, serial number 1374 (Photo #3)  It has been owned by my friend (and bandmate) since 1981. The screws on the pick guard are not original but the rest of the guitar and all the electronics are original and in absolutely beautiful condition. The body is in perfect shape except for some very minor chipping on the back where the D- string hole is. (Photo # 4)  The shaping of the body is original, only a few of the late '53's had the contours from the factory. (Photo #8) The beautiful custom finish was done by Dave Kovatch of Stringed Instrument Repair in Hermitage, Tennessee sometime in the early 70's. This instrument has been used by a working professional only very rarely and handled with great care as you can tell from the photos. It has a beat-up old road-worn Fender tweed case that is fully functional. The frets, neck and hardware are in perfect shape, just played a gig a few weeks ago here in Old Town Alexandria,Virginia and sounded great. Free shipping in the U.S.A.
