Lots of interest, lots of calls, thanks for all the kind words! If you're thinking about making an offer on this one you should do it now. With the price drop, I'm getting close to some of the bids. I've turned down quite a few. If it doesn't sell soon, I'll just keep it. Good investment/collector grade instrument. My cell number if you would like an in hand description. If I can't pick you up at the time, leave your number and I'll call you back. 714-981-7371I've also added a return policy. See below. I usually don't offer refund policies on used instruments but a few of you made valid points about the need for return policy because of the value of the guitar.So............ here she is, she's a beautiful sounding and looking Super 400, first year 1934. It’s in great condition for a 75-year-old guitar. This is truly a work of art and was the top of the line guitar for Gibson during this period. 1934 was the first year Gibson made the Super 400 and it was the most expensive and largest body size (18") of any production guitar in the world at that time. Shipping total was probably less 35 total for 1934, 75 years ago. 1935 was 63, 1936 was 29. Very few are left in original condition and definitely playable. It’s hard to really show all of details of the guitar in 12 pics. Email me and I’ll send you any more you need, close-ups of any part or angle that you’re looking for.You can also come see it in person if you are close to Irvine, CA - 92618The guitar has all original finish, Grover tuners, truss rod cover, frets, bridge and gold tailpiece, strap button, pickguard, and label. It has a non-original pickguard bracket and a small hole in the tailpiece that was probably for a pickup at one time. No marks on the guitar from the pickup. Everything else is all original. Needs a good cleaning but I’ll leave that for you when you put the strings of your choice on her.The neck is the larger style and feels great in your hand. No buzzes and nice action. Nut width is 1 11/16”This is the Grand Auditorium body shape and style similar to a Style O from the early 1900's.She plays really easy and booms with tone. I can't tell you how good this sounds and plays. The guitar is very cool. It’s not a "mint under the bed" but it has been very well cared for. The reason it was played is because of the sound and tone of the instrument. 2009 Vintage Guitar Price Guide has this one at $15,000 to $18,000. This one is priced to sell. This will only go up in value and will continue to appreciate. I’m sure you already know this is a highly collectable, Pre-War model Gibson. Prices will come back up and this one will go up with them.In 1934 the Gibson Super 400 had an 18" wide body, an adjustable bridge with triangular designs, was assembled with figured maple wood back and sides, fitted with a Y shaped tailpiece, has triple bound f-holes and neck, brown pearloid pickguard, ebony fingerboard with pointed ends, has double split-block fingerboard inlays, diamond peghead inlays, open back Grover tuners, gold plated hardware and has the model name engraved on the heel cap, Super 400.There is checking on her but not massive. Below the headstock on the stinger a little paint missing but not a crack or a repair, just worn, a number of dings and marks but no major damage of any type. A few (very small) nicks and spots or the back and front. There is a paint surface small split below the heel but not in the wood. I have lots more pics that I can forward to your email address. The flamed back, sides and neck make up for any of these minor imperfections. This was again the most expensive production guitar in the world in 1934 so the appointments are all there. It's absolute ready to play needing only a set of your favorite strings. Has been stored and kept well. No smells at all on the guitar or in the case.Serial number 92094.I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime in that the guitar is also posted for sale locally and offers coming in. I have sold over 25 vintage guitars and 25 vintage amps on eBay and know how to package them. Look at my feedback on shipping. They have all arrived safe and sound around these United States without any problems and this one will also.We don't want to be shipping this back and forth because of the value of this instrument. If there is anyway you can pick this up in or near Irvine, CA you should. I’ll drive up to 25 miles to help get it to you safe and sound if needed. Return policy listed belowThis is in a late 40’s to early 50’s Lifton case. The "best grade" (known as the "faultless" case) was the "California Girl" case, as it is known. This wooden case has a rich brown outside (like a tanned California girl), and a very plush and rich pink inside. The handle on this highest-grade case offered is leather covered metal. The handle is a little worn but still works great. This case is in very good condition and protects the instrument well. All latches 100% working order. Probably worth a little bit by itself.I also have emails from a guy that has the original bracket and another guy that has an original case. I also have a new hard shell case that I can offer for another $100.00 if you want it.Summary:Priced well below market value! All original except for a bracket and a hole in the tailpiece.Good condition with no structural damage or repairs ever.First year 1934 for the Super 400 and very collectable!Plays and sounds great with no issues!Very few made, fewer still around, even fewer for sell, ever!Vintage Lifton Case in Very Good Condition!More pictures and or information are always available.Shipping, Insurance and other stuff:All items are shipped UPS Ground and include insurance against loss or damages for full sale amount.
